Wes Edens is a private equity investor and an American businessman who founded New Fortress Energy and co-founded Fortress Investment Group (FIG). He is also the co-owner of Milwaukee Bucks based in Wisconsin Milwaukee. FIG was launched in 1998, and its headquarters are in New York.

 

Wes Edens earned his Bachelor of Science in B.A and Finance from Oregon State University. He got his first job as a managing director at Lehman Brothers. Wes also partnered and worked at BlackRock Private Equity Firm as the managing director.

 

Wes Edens manages various Fortress Investment Group investments in financial services, real estate, health care, media, and infrastructure. He played a significant role in developing and growing these investments and made them the best. 

 

New Fortress Energy has changed people’s living standards through logistics assets terminals, power generating facilities, and liquefied natural gas terminals. Wes’s vision for New Fortress Energy is to make it one of the world’s top carbon-free power providers through renewable hydrogen and clean technology. 

 

Wes Edens significantly contributed to the establishment of Brightline; a private rail system maintained and operated by the US. It links Florida cities from Orlando to Miami and offers a 2nd corridor between Southern California and Las Vegas.

 

Wes Edens worked as a co-Chairman of the Public Health Advisory Council at Brown School. He is also a competitor and an athlete and participates in outdoor sports, including horse-jumping, running, ski racing, and mountain climbing. He participated in climbing the Matterhorn, the Grand Teton, and MT. Kilimanjaro.
